I have an Linux VDR recorder that records from DVB-T receiver. The output format produced by VDR are files with a *.vdr extention. I am not very familiar with the video stream formats but I think it is exactly that recorded what is received from the DVB-T stream. This files can be played with the VLC program , but not with the WD TV life box. The files have to be converted  by e. g. fmpeg or DVBCUT into an mpg format.

It would be great when the WD TV life box could play the *.vdr format directly, so a transfer is not necessary.
