Hi,

I have a WDTV Live Plus media player which I primarily use to watch movies and shows on Netflix. I've now moved out of the United States and unfortunately I cannot access Netflix anymore.

However, there is a way to work around this issue. If I connect to the internet through a VPN, I'm able to watch Netflix videos on my computer. Is there any way I can configure my WDTV media player to connect to the internet through VPN?

Has anybody successfully used the WDTV Live Plus media player to watch Netflix from outside the United States? If so, please do share your experience - what is the method?

Thanks very much.

@RavRob
Thanks for the link. It looks like it may be relevant to what I'm trying to do but unfortunately I don't understand it at all. It all looks like Greek and Latin to me. I probably need a "dummies" guide to what was written in that link.

@frankielayell
I'm sorry, but I'm quite unable to understand what you're suggesting.

I'm in Canada and use www.usvideo.ca to watch US content like Netflix, it works great, u get a free 7 day trial by giving your email addy, then after the 7 days if u wish to continue the service u give your personal and payment info and it's $4.99 a month.

I didn't try using my VPN on WDTV media player but actually I am using it on all my devices and platforms with great stability for watching Netflix, Hulu and all online streaming services . You can try it http://www.vpnanswers.com/using-vpn-to-watch-netflix-outside-usa/
