So when I download a mkv movie I generally remux it to make sure the all the subtitles are turned off by default and all the language options are english by default. Recently I've noticed a lot of movies have been ripped with an english S_TEXT subtitle in the mkv and then they come with rars with sub/idx subtitles inside. I can remux both to combine them, but is this redundant? If I have one S_TEXT subtitle in english and one as a SUB what would be the difference?

Also, if there is a different language being spoken within parts of the movie, is it likely that the english subtitles at that part can be turned off? I'd like those to be on by default at all times.

Thanks for the help!
