It should pop up a new option "New Firmware found" in the settings menu.

If you want to upgrade using stock WDTV files:
1. Make sure your scandisk cruzer is formatted as FAT32.
2. Copy wdtv.bin and wwdtv.ver to cruzer.
3. Make sure the wwdtv.ver has a higher value than what you see when you go to Settings, System, About.
4, If it does, unplug WDTV, remove all drives, put cruzer in one of the USB slots and plug WDTV back in. It should upgrade.

If you run Windows,
1. goto My Computer.
2. Plug USB stick into USB slot.
3. Notice, after a few seconds a new drive letter will appear on screen.
That will be your stick.
4. Right click on new drive letter.
5. Lrft click Format.
6. Under File System choose FAT32.
7. Click Start.
8. When Format is complete, see above post.
