Hi Guys.
i was wondering if anyone can help me with this.

lately i've noticed that picture quality of my mkv files are very grainy when played with my WD TV Live.
on the computer the file plays flawless. but when on the media player its really grainy.
i first thought it was the file itself, but seeing as the computer plays it fine.
i have the latest firmware also.

is there a fix for this somehow? and is anyone else getting the same thing?

See if you can change the resolution in the settings of the WDTV.  I had mine sometimes seemingly stuck at a lower res.
Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1
1.02.21 WDLXTV (Beta)
Linksys - WUSB600N USB Adapter
DLink - Dir-655 Router
Atheros - AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
XBMC - The Future of Television

if you mean mkv files that were ripped from bluray then bluray is very grainy period. perhapse you dont see the grain on your computer because of smaller screen/lower resolution. on any large lcd tv bluray is really grainy and that is how it is supposed to be. the reason you see more film grain is because bluray is way more detailed then standard def video.

hi guys.
these videos are ripped.
some are 720p some are 1080p.
i've just noticed that some are just really grainy.
when played on the PC the picture qaulity is great. no dramas with that.
but when played on the TV its grainy. hard to explain though..
