Hi,

I have purchased WD TV LIVE yesterday and connected it to:

- LAN - works very good
- Plasma TV (via HDMI) - works very very good
- Stereo receiver (3,5mm to chinch cable) - PROBLEM!

Problem is that through receiver, right channel has constant buzz in bacground. Sound on TV is good. Audio setting is on STEREO.
I have checked the connections, of course, and problem is definitely with audio out on WD Live. No buzz with other sources.

I saw on some website that this problem can be created by new version of firmware, and that downgrade, on new upgrade would solve it.
Currently, I don't know what FW version I have (It was automatically downloaded last night after first connection to internet, I assume last possible one)

Can someone tell me if he has similar problem and how was it solved

THANKS!

It is not Audio-out..
It is an AV-out, so you need to use a proper cable (for example the enclosed one). Normal stereo jack will not work, it will be buzzing and sound distorted.

Now I feel really stupid :)
Yes, I wanted to avoid usage of enclosed cable, totally not thinking about what "V" stands for in "AV out"  :-[ , so I have plugged the one from notebook...

Probably this will solve the problem, I will know as soon as I get back home!

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for this, just got a WDTV, had this problem, googled it and saw this topic. Easy answer, much appreciated.
