7.1 pass through. Is it only for Dolby True HD or also for DTS HD MA?

DTS core and Dolby Tru HD only. -I don't think the WD streamers will ever get DTS-MA / DTS-HD
I tested it last night, it is a solid release. The release notes are huge -lots of fixes!!!
One minor fix still pending & acknowledged by WD for VOB streaming over network shares -(probably will make it into the official FW)...

BR
Playback on: WDTV-Live via Yamaha RXV-1800 Receiver
Wild Media Server installed on: Windows Home Server (3Tb custom build)
Viewing on: 46" Samsung  6-Series  LCD

Why would they need to fix VOB files streaming over network shares???? ::) They're too busy trying to get the thing to talk to the future.....lol

I wonder if this would be compatible with the WDTV Live Plus?

Seems solid - I had no problems with this.  MKV 720p seems smoother than with the .17
Much more responsive
Can run both outputs at same time

WDTV w/ WD Elements 1TB HDD, WDTV Live w/ WD Elements 1.5TB HDD, Panasonic 42" Plasma, Samsung 42" Plasma, Bose 901 Main Speakers, Bose VCS-10 Center Speaker, Bose 161 Surround Speakers, JBL 100 Watt Subwoofer, Sony 150 Watt DTS Reciever, Directv HD DVR w/ 1 TB Upgraded HDD

Hello,

The firmware contains 1.04.22_V always big BUG. It is impossible to read because it produces avi lag. These lag were already present on the same films in the firmware 1.04.17V.
the series in AVI contains the following description: MPEG-4 video (XVID) Resolution: 624x352 Audio Codec: MPEG Audio layer 1/2/3 (mpga) Frequency: 48000Hz flows: 160Kb / s.
I have the same problem on DVD in VOB format.
The problem is observed on 2 WDTV LIVE HD.
The 2 WDTV were downgraded in 1.03.49_V firmware and everything works normally.

Thank you.

Anyone knows what the "Match FrameRate" is ???

Every movie could have a different frame rate: 23,976 for film, 25 for PAL system, 29,97 for NTSC ,etc.
In previous versions you have to manually match in the WD TV Live menu those framerates to get a smooth play of the vídeo file.
In this version this sets automatically.

Hi,
I just upgrade from 1.04.17 to 1.04.22 and the process itself was successful.
However I found new issues in the new version:
1- If match video framerate is selected not possible to set 12 bits color. If match video framerate is not selected then OK.
2- Blu-ray play is gone. No menus, no navigation, no play.

In the good side, the auto framerate works fine.

Regrads.

Hello, I'm kinda new here
I've just switched from WDTV1 to WDTVLive, upgraded from 1.04.17_V to 1.04.22_V and I have issues with audio digital output.
My set-up: WDTVLive -> HDMI to plasma TV (fullHD) and WDTVLive -> optical out to AV receiver 5.1 Harman Kardon AVR132).
In both firmwares the sound in mkv's with ac3 or dts 5.1 is distorted and on optical out, voices are very low compared with music and ambiance sound and there is also present an annoying echo effect)
If changed to stereo output it works very good.
I tried to reset to factory defaults throungh the dedicated menu, then hard reset, then switched off the power for 2 minutes, etc without any luck.
Anybody knows a hint, is it a firmware issue? Should I downgrade to another working firmware?

I've installed new public beta, but I still have problems playing ripped DVD (VOBs)
I thought thisissue was resolved, but it still persists. Anyone having same problems.

Other than that, mediaplay is good so far.
