I'm new to the WD Media Player and trying to make a few playlists.  I find that they only play according to the alphabetical or numeric order rather than the order I put them in.  Since most songs are named according  to the number in the album, all the 01s play first, then the 02s, etc.  Is there a way to generate a playlist such that they actually play in the order that I want them to?

I can't even get a playlist to work at all on my unit (I must be doing something dumb)

But about your problem...
I would think that a new firmware update would be required for your issue to be resolved.

According to the docs, the player can read the metadata for the files, and instead of using that, it is just going by alphabetical order.  In this case it is going through your playlist and rearranging the files to its default organizing method.  This is why I think it's a firmware issue.
