Testing Enviroment
WDLH <--> 8 ports 10/100HF Switch Zyxell <--> PC dedicated 1.5Ghz P4 Samba server
30meters/98.42feet CAT5 STP cable


TEST with 8kb copy buffer (reading speed test from WDLH over network to PC memory)

~5.7MB/s

Second test speed is only 4MB unknown reason probably CPU/utilization is still high

Only for Comparison

TEST COPYing SAME FILE (1gig.file) FROM USB HDD to MY PC SERVER LOCAL COPY over USB bus
~20MB/s (2.5" WD Passport 250gb HDD)
I can say PC server is not bottleneck is capable write to HDD with 20mb/s keep on mind also 2.5" HDD
are not extra fast 3.5" HDD are faster

probably LAN infrastructure and FullDuplex mode can increase perfomance
but not extremly high. If someone will have better speed should share own technical spec.
Maybe 1gig NIC with CrossCable FD is able run faster I think SAMBA+CPU is limitating factor

NFS or FTP protocols are not supported only WindowsShare/Samba or DLNA server Twonky


Write speed test will come later I have to go out now
