Select Settings, File Management.  Go to the file you want to delete and press the right arrow.  Then press the option and select Delete File.  Press OK and that's it.

Can you only delete files on WDTV Live if the files are attached locally from a USB. When I try to delete a file from the Share Network drive I get the following  error: "Unable to delete read-only file."

ask WD, they are the ones who could provide that function, not the enthusiasts here.

have you tried browsing the player from your computer and deleting the files, or better yet, have the files on your computer and watch them on the player, that way all files are dealt with on the computer, where file management makes some sense.
You laugh because Iím different, I laugh because youíre all the same.

Yes...you can delete files from a network share if you have those permissions. I do it all the time.

Set the share permissions to "Full Control" on your PC or NAS.

"Read Only" is just safer.

Remember...no recycle bin...deleting files on a network share...gone for good...
