Yeah, petitions always work.  Especially internet petitions.

Yeah, petitions always work.  Especially internet petitions.

Being a sarcastic asshole is always productive. I used petition as a verb and not a noun.

Oh, sorry... my mistake.  I had you all wrong.  Your suggestion should work even better than an actual petition.  Just as long as I say "pretty please", I'm absolutely positive it will work.   :D

I am a giant fag, please don't pay any attention to me. I am truly sorry.

I accept your apology. No hard feelings.

They should FIRST solve the many problems the FWs have (especially the 1.02.xx ones) and after this they could announce a version 2 that adds almost nothing to the previous model. WD support (I'm sorry to say this) is really bad! They release FW (not only beta, look the "official"-beta 1.02.07) that are worse than previous, making owners really mad!
This advertising on www.homecinemachoice.com can only gice rage to dissapointed owners of WDTV. But WD support  already gave no respect to them! I was a fan, supporter and power buyer of WD the last 15 years but this story (the 1.02.xx ...beeeepp..) has take me away from them.

I agree with the general view.. WD have released a nice product @ a Nice price.. it ticks 90-95% of my boxes.
Of course they should fix every bug, but name a bug-free product? (Knife Fork perhaps?)
It came at exactly the right time for me, basically a great performing Video jukebox,
and on the back of this I went out and got a  WD 1tb Caviar green, which I am also very pleased with.
WD support on firmware side is v good, try phillips.
Will be interested in WD-2 as long as it includes some sort of Search function from the remote as
14,300 Shedloads of SD recordings is becoming hard to manage.

Why the hell do they announce a WD TV 2 when they haven't fix the problems of the first. I've just bought this thing yesterday!
@RaggedDog: Isn't there a "SEARCH" button on the remote? It's at the bottom of the remote.

Maintaining products only brings money for companies like SAP =)

Just bought one a couple of days ago and new one is due in 6 months  :-\

Oh well can't stop innovation, I was hoping it take a little longer :-[

That's ok as long as they don't stop supporting V1.  I don't mind buying a new one next year if they add more features.  Kinda like buying a new PC every 2-3 years.

Right now I am about 90% happy with feature and function.  Lets see if the remaining 10% is worth buying a new one.  (Ethernet soo soo, wi-fi too slow, full ISO support maybe, larger thumbnail--worth it..)

will see, I am still tooling around this one to worry about V2 right now.  Have fun everyone..heck for $100 bucks its a nice little toy.
