Got the same problem.
Drivers for revision B3 does not exist at the moment even on d-links homepage from what i can see(Linux drivers), was thinking of build a own app.bin but thats not possible cause of that probably?

Maybe if someone could sneak a peak at their chinese/korean website since they usually have the drivers that microsoft repress.

Hi,

I have just received my DWA 140 wireless adapter . So far I have not been able to get it working with a WDTV version 1.

Most likely the cause is that that the adapter is version B3. This seems to need a rt5370.ko driver instead of the rt2870.ko driver for version B2.

Can anyone explain to me how I can get this driver implemented?

Thanks so much

Please help...
I have a question about editing the net.config file......in the tutorial it says.."Now open the  'net.config' file on root using Notepad++. Scroll down to Line 37 where it says "# CHANGE VALUE BELOW BASED ON DWA140 REVISION". Change accordingly. Basically, if you have B1 then use "WLAN_LOAD=rt2870sta.ko" and "rt3070sta.ko" for B2.", in my net.config file there is nothing in line 36 or 37 only goes up to line 35 which says, #SUPPRESS_OTHERS=yes....nothing after this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

why should anyone help, all the info you need is in this thread.
I used it to get mine networked way back when it was put on here.

patience is required, it's not easy (by times) and it's certainly not a task for everyone

my wdtv 1st Gen is sitting in a corner somewhere but if I was to put an adapter in it and turn it on it would still work.
I can't bring myself to get rid of it...
You laugh because Iím different, I laugh because youíre all the same.

Can somebody re-upload "wireless-mod-rt3070v2.app.bin" ??

I can't find it anymore, not here on the forum not with Google. I have a D-LINK DWA125 rev 1 which uses the same chipset.

Many thanks if someone still has it.

I have updated the guide with working links. I apologize for the late response, as I have since moved on to the WDTV Live.

My WDTV Gen1 is sitting in the closet, collecting dust. Can't answer anymore questions as it is has been too long to remember anything. :c/

Hi everyone,

I need some help. I think the problem is not specifically related to the wireless networking setup although I am trying to make it work. So, as I wasn't able to download all the files needed for wireless networking to work some time before (the links were dead..), I have installed only 1.03.01_B-RAD.CC_WDLXTV-0.5.8.1 custom firmware without wireless-mod-rt5370.app.bin (I bought dwa-140 B3). Today I prepared all the files needed and updated the version file. The wdtv correctly recognized the new version and the firmware update process started, but as soon at it finished it recognized the new version again, as if it hadn't updated it a minute ago. I supposed it maybe had to do something with the thing that the b-rad.app file was actually the same so wdtv figured it doesn't need to update. But  then I tried to do the same with official WDTV_1_03_01 firmware (I have increased the version again), and the problem was the same: wdtv recognized the new firmware version, started the upgrade process, rebooted and then wanted to upgrade again. So I guess I cannot flash the wdtv after I installed the 1.03.01_B-RAD.CC_WDLXTV-0.5.8.1. Is this true?

Thanks for Your help in advance.

Just remove the USB from the WDTV after the update.  It keeps reading your USB and find an updated version on it and wants to update again....

Ah, ofcourse, it reads the correct version of the currently installed firmware and figures it is lower then specified in the .ver file. Everything works now, even the IP part. Thanks to everyone, especially RavRob for quick response:)
