Hi, everybody. This is my first post in this newly discovered forum.

I own a version 1 WDTV that run on my home theater with sound over the optic cable, no problem.

I bought a second unit (version 1 also) as a present for my daughter. She has an old TV with only composite inputs for sound. And most of my mkv files will play in video but no sound. In this forum I have learned that any mkv file with DTS sound will not play the sound, there is even a software that will convert that mkv-DTS file to a mkv-ac3 file, and that will play on my daughters tv (previously have to setup to stereo of course)

My question is if this issue is solved in version 2 of the WDTV, namely, that mkv files with DTS sound will play sound over the composite connection without the need to connvert the file with the aforementioned software.

Thanks in advance

Best Regards
