Hi, I'm sorry I'm totally new to this, started testing today.
After many many many tries I finally got my wireless usb stick flash instead of a constant blue light! yay \o/ but I can't figure how to make it actually work.

I have an Airlink 101 AWLL3026 - Zydas 1211/1211b

here is my wpa_supplicant.conf
Quote
ctrl_interface=/tmp/wpa_supplicant
network={
ssid="****"
# uncomment next line if your ap doesn't broadcast ssid
#scan_ssid=1
key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
proto=WPA2
psk="****"
}

and my net.conf
Quote
#
# Network configuration file

#You can override the hostname here:
HOST=wdtv

# if you do not set a hostname,a random one is assigned.

# attempt to set jumbo frames
MTU=9000

#
# Dynamic IP Configuration:
DHCP=yes

#
# Static IP Configuration:  (only if not DHCP)
#DHCP=no
#IP=192.168.0.10
#GW=192.168.0.1
#NM=255.255.255.0
#DNS1=192.168.0.1
#DNS2=205.171.3.65

#
# Optional:

#specify time server host
#NTP=pool.ntp.org

#specify timezone (example=pacific North America)
#TZ=PST8PDT

#do not load any network drivers (saves memory)
#SUPPRESS_OTHERS=yes

ifconfig $MDEV up
wpa_supplicant -Bw -Dwext -i$MDEV -c/boot/wpa_supplicant.conf

Any help is appreciated Much thanks.

Well after long hours trying turns out I can only connect using WPE.

I have a DWL-G122

i've downloaded thw wireless-mod.app.bin of 28 of march, 2009. is it the latest?

Then i created this wpa_supplicant.conf

Code: [Select]
ctrl_interface=/tmp/wpa_supplicant
network={
 ssid="Home"
 # uncomment next line if your ap doesn't broadcast ssid
 scan_ssid=1
 proto=WPA2
 key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
 pairwise=CCMP
 group=CCMP
 psk="123456789012345678901234"
}

i have a d-link router with WPA+WPA2 security, using a 24char (numeric) password

my actual net.config file is this

Code: [Select]
#
# Network configuration file

ifconfig $MDEV up
wpa_supplicant -B -D ralink -i $MDEV -c/boot/wpa_supplicant.conf

#You can override the hostname here:
HOST=wdtv

# if you do not set a hostname,a random one is assigned.

# attempt to set jumbo frames
#MTU=9000

#
# Dynamic IP Configuration:
DHCP=yes

#
# Static IP Configuration:  (only if not DHCP)
#DHCP=no
#IP=192.168.0.30
#GW=192.168.0.1
#NM=255.255.255.0
#DNS1=81.29.230.1
#DNS2=81.29.230.5

#
# Optional:

#specify time server host
NTP=pool.ntp.org

#specify timezone (example=pacific North America)
TZ=CET

#do not load any network drivers (saves memory)
#SUPPRESS_OTHERS=yes

my wifi Adapter is plugged into rear usb, with a fully compatible usbx4 adapter serving a verbatim usb disk

When I reboot my wdtv
it show the background image where it could be the ip, but nothing written over it.  Freezed i suppose

How to debug?

ABOUT 1 year ago, this pen with this disk with this adapter was working right, so i'm sure that adapter is working with wdtv

my wdtv firmware is wdlxtv latest available.

weecommand.app.bin
Browse and add IRC download via OSD
Prototype 3
Actually stopped

Sorry but I am new to this whole thing and I need some explanation:

When I installed this wireless usb mod correctly, will I have any kind of GUI interface implemented in the main GUI...so I can for example choose "Video -> Network shares" like on the WDTV HD Live? Or how do I get access to some streaming media over wifi?

second question: if I buy a compatible usb wifi usb dongle, could anyone from this forum write me a working script if I tell them all my wifi WPA, PASSWORT, IP, etc data that is needed? I read all the tutorials and it seems I do not understand anything at all... I have no clue about linux programming also  :(

thank you guys in advance.

cheers from Germany.

To set up the wdtv to work with an usb wireless card appears alot of work. Especially for one myself who alot of the info I read on how to set it up is out of my element. My question before I try and jump in and make it work, is am I able to network the drives that are attached to my wdtv? All I wish to be able to do is send files to them, edit them and delete them when needed. Can this be accomplished? Everything I read seems people's goal to network the wdtv is to stream video from a computer where the drives would be located. Thank you for any insight.

Hi, All,

Anyone can tell me does this package (Ver 0.1 ~ 0.3) really support Atheros Otus?

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0cf3:9170 Atheros Communications, Inc.

Here is my config:

...
ifconfig $MDEV up
wpa_supplicant -Bw -Dotus -i$MDEV -c/tmp/mnt/wpa_supplicant.conf

...

Thx

Does anyone offer any help on this topic anymore? It seems like no one has gotten replies for weeks. I also need some help getting this setup but will try somewhere else if nobody is willing to offer any help in this forum.

Hi, is there any chance for Dlink DWA-160 rev. A2 (pid-vid : 07d1-3a09, Atheros Otus) to be included in the next wireless.mod.app for WDTV Gen1?
According to this post http://forum.wdlxtv.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=2361, soon it will be supported in b-rad's 0.4.5.0 version for WDTV Gen2.
DWA-160 A2 and TP-Link TL-WN821N seems to have the same chipset.
Thank you.

 ???  I'm totally confused on setting up wifi on version 1 (not Live).  Here's where I am. From the About Screen I have:
Firmware Version 1.03.01.WDLXTV-0.581
WDTV-229a31: No IP

My Jump Drive contains:
dmesg.txt
event-osd.app
log-saver.app
Msheet.app.conf
Msheet.app.event
system.txt
wireless-mod.app
wireless-mod-wdlxtv.app

I have the following wireless USB Adapters available:
Linksys RangePlus WUSB100
WiBee-N
Azio AWU354

I've booted with each adapter and no IP address gets assigned.  I must be missing something basic here.  I'm wirelessly trying to get to my networks 500G Buffalo Linkstation that is loaded with movies.

Any direction from here would be great!!!

 ??? :'( :o
