I have the ethernet cable connected directly from my D-Link DIR- 655 N router port to the WDTV live media player. When I select detect network settings automatically it fails to bring in any information.

Could someone please help me with this issue, what if I used a the DA 140 range booster N USB adapter instead of the connected cable would this work. Please note I have the D-Link RangeBooster G USB Adapter (WUA-2340) might this work?

Help is appreciated

Which port on the router? I hope you plugged it into one of the LAN ports and not the WAN port...
