Hi everyone!

In anticipation of getting my WDTV (which arrived today in record time from Amazon France), I've been ripping some of my CDs to FLAC and WMA lossless in the hope of comparing the two before deciding which format to rip my whole music collection to.

FLAC files play fine, but I get a 'file type not supported' error message when I try to play the WMA files.

I thought WMA was supported - at least it says so on the tin.... is it just because it's the lossless WMA format that's different?

Appreciate it if anyone can shed any light on this.

Andy

Andy,

WMA is supported, but not WMA-HD which is what you are talking about.  Stick with the FLAC if you need to rip them right away.   WDTV may add WMA-HD support with the upcoming firmware update, however there is no indication that that is likely.
WDTV LIVE with current official FW > HDMI > DVDO > Sony CRT Projector 150" 16/9 screen.  Toslink audio to Yamaha DTS receiver. No Network set up yet.
