Sorry, I see samba folder below USB1 in OSD, but codepage is wrong. I'll understand.

to see net.mounts you unfortunately have to have a device connected locally. Are you saying the codepage on your cifs is wrong?

you can put net.config, net.mounts, and smb.conf into /conf and they'll persist and be loaded every boot ;)

the /conf counterpart to S00custom-options is /conf/S00user-script

be warned if S00custom-options or S00user-script contain errors the osd will cease booting. only way to fix a borked S00user-script is by deleting it with S00custom-options.

I'm testing out a version with codepage and iocharset settings, check back briefly.

Thank you very much b-rad.

I tried your FW but Im back to original.77 because yours dont power down my HD. I allready see that I must make some changes in S00custom-options but no effect. subtitles and wallpapper changing working just fine, but not the USB power down. ( Sorry for my bad english )
I have the same problem. And changes in s00custom has no effect (even triying to change the bakcground).

I connected an external DVD drive and put a DVD... but the WD doesn't recognize it... is there something I have to do before it to enable the DVD mode? Thanks

I'd added "iocharset=utf8" to xmount string to net.mounts. File names are ok now.
Now string like
   xmount "//192.168.1.70/VideoX" "VideoX" cifs "user=Linux,password=12345678,iocharset=utf8"
Note, if share is on WinXP (may by and higher) real user must have not empty password

I connected an external DVD drive and put a DVD... but the WD doesn't recognize it... is there something I have to do before it to enable the DVD mode? Thanks

I managed to get a dvd drive to work: connected everything and rebooted the WDTV (not with the remote). The problem is that when the drive is connected, I cannot change (eject) the disk. Even if I disconnect the DVD drive, reboot it (to open the tray), change the disk and reconnect to the WDTV, it isn't read.. The box shows the previous image for the drive but when I try to enter, it says NO MEDIA. To get it to work again, I have to reboot the WDTV another time with the DVD drive connected. Is it how it is supposed to work?

I have problems with netmounts after upgrading to 0.4.1.7-1 - there are no SMB/Windows shares shown on osd anywhere. Before this upgrade I was using 0.3.4.5 and the where under local drives/usb/ on osd. It worked perfectly except I had to manually map drives every time after cold reboot. Editing net.mounts had no effect but ok, not a big deal.

IP adresses are:
WDTV Live IP: 10.5.199.128, gateway: 10.5.199.1
Local PC: 10.5.199.64

Server 1 IP: 10.5.136.32
Windows Share Names: Public01, mp3

Server 2 IP: 10.5.136.33
Windows Share Names: Public02

Local shares from my PC (same subnet!) are working and shown in osd .../network shares - but my all my movies are on servers in different subnet - everything is part of larger wireless community. Over telnet, i can see all smb shares are mounted properly and can be listed with ls -al from /tmp/media/usb:

# xmount //10.5.136.33/video Public02 cifs user=xxxxx,pass=xxxxx
# xmount //10.5.136.32/video Public01 cifs user=xxxxx,pass=xxxxx
# xmount //10.5.136.32/mp3 mp3 cifs user=xxxxxx,pass=xxxxx

# cd /tmp/media/usb
# ls
OSD Settings  Public01      USB1
PQI           Public02      mp3

So, everything s mounted but not shown on OSD? Why? And if it is, WHERE? Under USB drives i get no media... ???

I think your netmask is 255.0.0.0 Then than's one subnet.
Run ping to those addresses. But I can't interrupt this by Ctrl-C. I added a parameter for running time. Look at ping --help
What does mount show?
Do you work in console or telnet? Console sometime show additional errors.

No, I haven't enabled NTP.  Will that will fix it?

No, that is usually the cause of the exact issue you describe. Looks like I have NTP on by default in WDLXTV_G2, where it has to be explicitly enabled as opposed to WDLXTV_Live where you have to explicitly enable it.

Either way, telnet in and execute:
Code: [Select]
config_tool -c NTP=OFF

That fixed it!  Are you going to set NTP off by default in your next release?

All work´s fine, connection, drive mount, etc. But the videos play with stop gaps (sorry for my eang). I try to play the same video in my notebook (via wireless too) and it plays perfectly.

Is this one? http://www.modem-help.co.uk/Linksys/WUSB54GC-Wireless-G-Compact-USB-Adapter.html
You need driver for rt2501. This module is only 802.11g, therefore B-RAD won't add this to fw. I'll try to compile it later.
If you want to search precompiled driver, then it is needed for mips, kernel 2.6.22.14, LittleEnd of course.
About 802.11g. I tried same. I play mkv with 1080p from win share. It's play perfect. Bitrate is about 10Mbps
