Rezmus, there is a new beta fw, 1.02.11.
Can you please make a new patch for it? I am sure there are quite a few fellows who'll be glad to use it.
Of course, I'll be one of them...  ;)

sorry was busy lately (wedding preparations), had no time to check the board. tomorrow i will update some stuff like patched dmaosd for bigger fonts (looking for a script based binary patcher so we can automate some stuff for future, maybe somebody knows a good one?), updated ext3-boot, etc.

I am not rezmus, but trying to help :p

so, grab your pendrive and unpack the downloaded rar into the root dir.
Then connect it to your wdtv player and turn it on. You will see "New Firmware" so click on it with your remote and the flashing process will begin, don't turn off or unplug your player till it's finished. That's all.
After flashing you will be able to change the font size bigger than the official 40.

Have fun!

Not so far.

Rezmus, and sorry if it has been already asked, i have read you can change (most) subs to yellow by "edit /osd/subtitle.xml, line 3 - change textcolor=“0xFFFF00”", can you include that on your patch?

Does that mean replace white with yellow or additional option of yellow?

I'm holding out for 1.02.11 with regular non yellow subs  :-*

That would mean yellow only. But maybe he can do both white, and yellow.

Personally i do not understand why people prefer white subs, which are much harder to read, mostly if the movie/series has many white backgrounds/scenes, the harder it is to read, the slower you read, the most time you waste reading the subs, the least time you spend watching the movie.

Fair enough, I find white with black border offsets all bg colours and are easy to read, while yellow are gaudy and jarring, but everyone's different :)
