I believe they are the same model but I am not 100% positive.

The update notes specify V2 so I would assume that this update is for either unit.

This update froze my wdtv. After it initiated the installation, my screen was stuck at the WDTV logo. I tried to reset by unplugging, but with no luck. I detached all the HDs from the system, but all i get is the "insert a drive with firmware" warning. Any help would be appreciated.

Update: I unplugged the system, stuck a thumb drive with the latest firmware. The system boots and says it's installing the new firmware, but is stuck at 0%.

Dear Friends,

I am a WD TV HD Gen-1 user with firmware 1.03.

Just want to know if anyone has successfully updated the Gen-2 firmware on Gen-1.

I am really interested because of the file management features on Gen-2 model.

Appreciate your feedback.

Regards,

Faisal
