Help, please.

There is an annoyingly loud (and dangerous to my speakers) "pop" or "click" between EVERY audio file (FLAC or MP3) and with EVERY album, with either HDMI or SP/DIF connections. Every other aspect of my WDTV Live seems to be OK.

Any ideas as to the cause or a solution?

Thanks!

i am betting on electric line noise
grab a good long extension cord
plug the wdtv into it and plug the cord into a socket in another room
on a different circuit
if it goes away you know the problem
i do assume you have tried the media on another device and had no issues there.

Hmmm... Thanks!

I'll try an extension cord. But I wouldn't think that static would only cause a problem BETWEEN tracks. I could be wrong... BTW, there are no problems with the media on any other player.

Any other ideas?
Thanks again!!

UPDATE: Nope, an extension cord to a different circuit did NOT solve the problem.

Next...?

Hi, I've got the same "popping" problem. I bought it yesterday and when playing aiff files "pop and click appeared". I installed the last firmware and still the same. I tried the static solution, but failed. I also tried the HDMI stereo, but popping is still there, I'm using the optical output, but both, the optical and the HDMI do the same. The WD is connected to my Yami RX-3800 and DTS, 5.1, PCM works, but when playing flac, aiff: pop and click.

Any suggestion?

Thanks a lot
