How come it doesn't recognize any .sub file, whether it's an old movie or a recent one ? The specifications of the WD TV HD Media Player 2nd Generation (model WDBABG0000NBK) are stating that it supports the following subtitle formats: SRT, ASS, SSA, SUB, SMI; it also says that on the box. If I convert the subtitle from .sub into .srt it recognizes it and works fine, but when you have lots of episodes with .sub extension it can take some time to convert all of them. Anyone have any idea why is that happening ? I hope WD will fix this problem in future firmware updates.

I'm having the same problem; it's BS since all of my foreign movies have .sub files.

Anyone know what the deal is?

I beleive that some .sub files also have a partner file with a .idx extension.
Both files must be present and names the same to work.

I don't use a lot of subs, but I had this issue with a movie that had a .sub file, and when I added the .idx file it worked...not sure if it is the problem you are having though.
