Ok found the problem!

I'm detecting the path where the boot usb stick is my looking at either /boot/ for ext3-boot, or by looking at /tmp/mnt/sda or sda1 or sda2. But it turns out when no network shares are detected the /tmp/mnt/sda is not created/mounted or even removed afterwards (judging on message.txt).

Then it THINKS it should use sda2 (last option) and just creates the info there in the temporary memory.

That is why it is removed after a reboot!

Pfff... trying to detect the boot usb path otherwise now. Also asked b-rad, but if anyone can point me into the right direction that would be great.

Just tried an fstab approach but not sure if this always works either.

Also the new *.conf.txt files are Windows by default, but needed to be converted to Unix.

@redindian: Thanks. Yes, I too could not find the /boot or /tmp/mnt/sda(1|2) in my install. So could this be the reason why it stops generating movieinfo and has to be reinstalled to be reset correctly?

Thanks again.

I have attempted twice to use the movie info in webserver .3, and it froze both times trying to collect movie info (it was close to the end).  The first time I had the WDTV player on and the second time I had it off.  When I had the WDTV off, the WDTV would not start up and I had to unplug it three times to get into the WDTV GUI.

I have actually had the exact same issue while using the previous version of webserver.  Does anyone have any idea how to prevent this?  I don't get any error messages when downloading movie info.  I receive this error though in my browser when I attempt to save the movie info configuration settings:

Warning: file_put_contents(/tmp/mnt/sda2/webserver-addons/movie.conf.txt) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /apps/webserver-addons/www/osd/config/index.php on line 197

I habe a similiar message with sda2 which doesn't exist in my setup :-/

Warning: file_put_contents(/tmp/mnt/sda2/webserver-addons/weather.conf.txt) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /apps/webserver-addons/www/osd/config/index.php on line 197

Hello !

I`m very new at this, and trying to log in to Webserver for the first time, I use the files in this version 0.3.

When I try to login with username and password, nothing works.. no username/password combination works for me. Nothing.

Is there anyone who knows what the "standard" username is ?
I`ve read it`s suposed to be username "root" and no password, but that don`t work.
I`ve tried IE 8 and Opera 10.5.

Anyone ?

XanderZ.

EDIT: After a whole lot of googling, I found it.
blank username and password "admin".. should`ve figured that.. sorry.

Is it possible to add a password protection for the webserver addons?
The webserver is protected by root password but the addons aren't.
Forwarding the addons to the internet at least a password, or better useraccounts, are needed for security reasons.

any chance of this being fixed up? it still wont work with ext3boot, always connection reset error from FF, IE gives a network error, opera just doesn't connect.
I've tried several other small browsers with no joy..

thanks for any help or info.

the overwhelming amount of replies leads me to believe that:

A. either NOBODY has this working with ext3boot at all
or,
B. nobody gives a crap to reply..

I doubted I'd get a reply, such a helpful bunch.....
no wonder folks don't like to post, they either get dumped on or no reply..
