I want to plug the wdtv into a big screen with the component(red, green, blue) cables for video.  What do I do for sound though?  I plugged the red, and white cable to av out and I am getting a loud buzzing sound and I can slightly hear the audio track underneath the buzz.

Is there a certain setting I need to adjust in the audio menu for the WDTV? Thanks

The buzzing is most likely coming from the unconnected yellow composite RCA connector on your audio cable acting as an antennae (is the TV a plasma?).  Just connect the yellow connector to any free composite video port it will reach (or you can tape it off with electrical tape to reduce [or hopefully eliminate] the audio interference.).  If that doesn't work, I'm baffled...

Should not do that!  Alternatively you can connect a toslink to your receiver or tv if either accepts it.
WDTV LIVE with current official FW > HDMI > DVDO > Sony CRT Projector 150" 16/9 screen.  Toslink audio to Yamaha DTS receiver. No Network set up yet.
