Howdy,

I am thinking about giving my old WDTV to mum for xmas and upgrading to a WDTV-Live.

I mainly use an attached hard disk which I upload new content to from my PC via a USB-ethernet dongle using FTP. I get a constant 33Mbps (4.00 MB/s) which I am very happy with.

One thing that concerns me is the reports of low upload rates to the WDTV2. eg. http://wdtvforum.com/main/index.php?topic=2762.0

Perhaps Western Digital have put a limitation on the file transfer rate as not to interfere with simultanious TV viewing? Anyways my question is using B-Rads hacked firmware with the onboard LAN, what upload rates are people getting via FTP? and is it constant?

Cheers
Jason

My upload rate varies between 3 and 9.5 MBytes/s; using wired and wireless (simultaneously) ethernet to the ethernet hub; and wired ethernet from the WDTV to the ethernet hub.

Currently watching an SD AVI video and getting 4.2MBytes/s transfer rate.

Oh, this is not via FTP, just through the windows explorer file transfer.

When it's idle, upload=7.5MB/s, download=6.5MB/s. I'm using brad's firmware.
