a built in torrent client server
I don't know if this is possible with the WDTV Live, but there are other players that do count with a
 built in Torrent client.
This would be an awesome feature for the WDTV live, in my opinion this is one of the very few feats missing.
what do you guys think?

Respectfully, I would rather focus the limited resources of the WDTV2 for it does best: -play media.
Torrents & .nzb services are better suited for a PC or NAS that will have the disk I/O, CPU & ram capacity to run these clients effectively.

Maybe something for a custom FW, where the feature can be turned on or off?

My 2c

BR

Playback on: WDTV-Live via Yamaha RXV-1800 Receiver
Wild Media Server installed on: Windows Home Server (3Tb custom build)
Viewing on: 46" Samsung  6-Series  LCD

I disagree.

I see no reason for such a feature. Its small playback device, not a download device. And there are still a lot basic features - more important features - which need implementing.
If you think there is something wrong with your WD device contact them and then act upon that: Either wait or move on - don't whine here - this is not WD's board. If you have a problem, start a thread and ask - perhaps someone knows the answer.

-1 as well - same reasons - need a few features tweaked for playback first!
