I too am new to the WD TV Live family, but I am very impressed with it so far.

As a disclaimer:  I am a Windows dev and have tinkered with Linux for fun...  thats about it.

My question is this:  Is it somehow possible to get the unit to boot a Live CD image?  If so, then, I wonder if it would boot the XBMC LiveCD?
I wonder if the hardware in the WDTVLIVE is compatible with XBMC LiveCD.

Any Thoughts?  or is this completely NOT doable?

OH WOW ... this would be an amazing thing to do!!!

I've been xbmc user for many years, started with xbox(original) then had to switch to pc based xbmc system, along the way trying out many different media center solutions including wmc and boxee.

I'm at the poin in my life :) where i don't want a bulky loud pc sitting at my television.  And so i decided to move to WDTV after a bunch of research this device promises to be the best choice.

but if we somehow managed to run xbmc on this wonderful peace of hardware?  THAT WOULD BE MY DREAM MC SOLUTION!!!

hello to the community btw.  ;D

I don't know how it would be possible but if you've never seen XBMC here is a pretty good video to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb9D28lcBdQ
