Never bought the original WDTV, was waiting for the Live to show up.  Seemed pretty easy to do with XBMC.  The older version required me to edit an .xml file and FTP it over to the original xbox.

Aside from flashing the latest firmware, what do I need to do to create bookmarks or mount to specific folders?  I have no problem seeing everyone on my network, I just dont care to go about the tedious method of browsing through all my stuff to get to the folder that has all the videos in it.

Ok, so it looks like I need to edit a file called net.mounts

xmount 192.168.1.3:/F/MPEG4/ xbox xbox
xmount 192.168.1.3:/D/SEAHAWKS/ xbox xbox
xmount 192.168.1.3:/D/HUSKIES/ xbox xbox
xmount 192.168.1.2:/720p/ xbox xbox
xmount 192.168.1.2:/MOVIES/ xbox xbox
xmount 192.168.1.2:/SCI-FI/ xbox xbox
xmount 192.168.1.2:/TV-ARCHIVE/ xbox xbox

For whatever reason, I cannot edit this via FTP (wont let me overwrite the file, but connecting via FTP is fine.  user:root pass:xdtvlive) or in Telnet (wont connect).   So I grab the flash drive, connect it locally to my PC, copy the edited net.mounts file over, then re-connect to the WDTV Live and reboot.  But it does not see this.  What am I doing wrong?

NOTE: Yes, I am a former XBMC user.   No, my skills with Linux are entry level (I know enough to move around in a command line interface and execute processes).
