It's the same as for wdtv1, you can make your own .mo/.po translation files.

UTF-8 IS the format of the sub files, so any languages in the character set can be translated to. Hebrew and a couple other R->L languages are confirmed not possible.

I'm currently working on a fresh new osd mod, its name will be ITOC (I'm tired of customizing) !  ;)

I grant me a break and then I'll see what I do...

Well, just let us know if you need any screen shots for any particular portions of the live that you cant access because not being US bound. Im sure others (along with myself) would be willing to donate for your work as they do with b-rad's.
I will be honest with you, a xbmc style'd osd would be killer.  It could be named "WDMC".....

I keep seeing all these people talking about getting XBMC to run on the WDTV, or getting an "XBMC-Style" OSD theme for it..

Let me say something: A) I ran XBMC for 5 years on my XBox. I loved it, it was awesome. But guess what. It was running on a customized OS on a PC with a Celeron. Tell you what. You wanna run XBMC? Go out and buy another PC with a Celeron, or any other mainstream processor. Throw Windows on it, or Linux, or Leo4All, and go live your life in XBMC bliss. This is NOT an XBMC box. This box is 10 TIMES the workhorse that the XBox was. It can play content with NO issues that the XBox couldn't even DREAM of playing. It is NOTHING like the XBox. AND THANK GOODNESS.

This is a slimmed-down, very streamlined, and very-well designed box and an incredible pricepoint. There is absolutely NOTHING stopping you from running XBMC, or Boxee, or any of the other XBMC offshoots if you're so stuck in 1999 that you HAVE to have XBMC in order to be happy. It's just not gonna happen here. Go get a $50 laptop off ebay and stick it under your TV, and spraypaint an XBMC logo on it.

As for an XBMC-styled theme... are you fucking serious? WHICH XBMC? Project Mayhem? Project Mayhem III? Or one of the other THOUSANDS of XBMC themes out there? Which one would you like someone to waste hundreds of hours of their lives duplicating, all because you're too fucking lazy to learn a new UI? To accept that this is NOT XBMC? I hope to hell it never will be. This is a new machine. With a new OS, and a new UI. It's simple. It's straightforward. IT DOESN'T PLAY VIDEO GAMES, AND IT DOESN'T GIVE BLOWJOBS.

Stop bitching and whining that "it's different" and stop wasting peoples time with these rediculous posts begging for someone to spend their time making it look like an antiquated piece of shit, just because you wanna wax nostalgic while you wax your johnson. It's not enough that people like b-rad and lilibabe are donating hundreds of hours of their time to pushing these machines to their full potential, and then GIVING AWAY THEIR WORK FOR FREE.. you need to be fucking RETARDS and ask them over and over again to stop doing new and creative and useful things with these machines, so that you can have a 10 year old UI that was designed for a system that couldn't do 25% of what this one can?

Do us all a favour, and nominate yourselves for the 2010 Darwin Awards.

ffs. Seriously.

Thx but Randy has already sent me what I missed (Pandora screens).

@randy-andrade : what fiery speech !  :)

XBMC is beautiful, XBMC is great, but after the first stirrings, I'd rather stay with something more simple ! it's just my taste, I understand that others are of another opinion...

Even if I try to consider your opinion as much as possible, I work better on something I am convinced : simplicity, sobriety, smoothness...

Ouch man, you almost hurt my feelings....
As for "GIVING THEIR WORK AWAY FOR FREE" thats by their choice. No one is forcing them to do so and im sure everyone is very thankful for the time that they put into their osd's and firmware's. And as I mentioned before.... I would be willing to donate for their product and would even purchase at a fair price.

Now as for your ranting and raving in this forum... I think your comments are very childish. The op posted a question and ppl answer the question. Xbmc is liked by many for the simple fact of its "plug n play" workings. If you could properly read you would notice that ppl ask for a xbmc "styled" theme. Not xbmc itself.

Thanks!!!

Don't fight !  ;)

There's no accounting for taste, everyone is free to love or hate xbmc !

As for me, I don't plan to clone xbmc but maybe someone else will...

Lilibabe -
Im sitting here looking at the live's stock osd. what if the minimalistic was incorporated into the stock osd.

I could work up a psd file that can explain a little better....

Edit: Something like this    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2504/4081308015_c3ae2503ce.jpg
The background would change at each different category though...ei, music,movies,pictures....ect..
