The only mkv synv issues I have are with h.264 and ac3 audio. This was not a problem with 1.02.11, but with 1.03.01 it is out of sync by about a second. I don't have many with this format, but since 1.02.11 plays all my mkvs fine, I will be sticking with it for a while...............

Help please. I cannot update from 1.02.10 to 1.03.01 official. I copied two files from rar and put in an empty usb flash memory. After ı choose upgrade it restart and it freezes in %0 and not continue at least 15 min. After I turn off the power player only shows blue opening screen. I only can re-load 1.02.10. I also tried 1.02.11 doesn't work. I also tried reseting and updating. Same result.

Anybody has same issue? Any suggestions. I'm thinking may be 1.02.10 version has some issue to upgrade??

Any help is appreciated.

I updated my fw every time there's a release whether its an official fw or not.
so from 1.02.10 --> 1.02.11 --> 1.03.01(beta) and no problem at all.

btw, I already use 1.03.01(pre release), do I need to update it again using the official fw 1.03.01?

also, what do they mean by enhanced? on the note? and what are the bux that fixed?

Does anybody know if the Pre-release 1.03.01 is equal to the now official 1.03?

I just installed the official 1.03 version. (previous one was 1.02.07)

As both the filename and in the about section of the system settings it shows : version 1.03.01 I think I know the answer. Filesizes and dates/times of 2 files inside zip-file were also equal to pre-release zip content.

When I tried to install the new firmware the system rebooted and started up showing the startup logo, but nothing else happens. This is how it is now, I cant use the thing and probably have to go back to the store to replace it. Bullcrap!

Please use a freshly FAT32 formatted USB stick.
Copy the 2 files (wdtv.bin and wdtv.ver) to it. Safely eject it from your pc and take it to the WDTV. Switch WDTV off and take powercord of WDTV out of wall socket.
Now put USB stick in and reconnect powercord.
It should find new firmware and install it.

I don't see any major improvement that worth the 1.03... :'(
I don't think I'll upgrade. :-\

Adding menu support to ISO's or new language srt support that's worth new digit ::)

Or not having to turn off subtitles each time you play a movie.  'Twould be nice.

Granted, I'd like to see a whole NEW UNIT released - a deluxe model.  With a quicker and more friendly interface and MUCH more friendly remote.  It would need a faster CPU of course.  And if they could copy/mimic the PS3 interface and remote that would be *great*.  I love how with the PS3 you use just the center button + arrow buttons around it for all your play controls.  Having to use a separate "back" button on the remote to go back out of a menu is a letdown, as is the FF/RW buttons.  Left arrow / Right arrow to RW/FF and center "Select" arrow to pause/play is the best way of doing it.

Looks like they heard you:

I doubt if it will answer your whole wishlist, but it is a new model regardless (I wish they'd put a proper remote in).

I just installed the new firmware and it now has problems.  Since it claimed it fixed the sync issues with mkv, i tried to play it and nothing.  Screen black, no sound.  When i stop, and go to the main list, it shows as it was playing a music file.  Why?  I unplugged everything and tried to restart and same problem.  Once i played the mkv file and exited, trying to play an avi. file, all blacked out and no sound.  Please say my wdtv isn't busted.  Did anyone run into this problem?  Please help... ???
