to the newly launched 1.03
Not necessarily the right thread for this but I'll play ball.   The quoted portion of your post is the problem, I'm afraid you're confusing the firmware for the WDTV vs the WDTV Live.

http://wdtvforum.com/main/index.php?topic=2468.0 if this link is the firmwre you're trying to load it's no wonder it's not working, because it's for the original WDTV and not the new Live version.

Thanks Matt!! Sorry for posting on the wrong thread, actually I tried to find the proper one without success.... So, this means that the WDTV Live has no updates as of now, is that correct? Is the 1.01 that came with it the lattest one? I followed the link you posted but it only talks about WDTV 1.03, nothing about the WDTV Live. Sorry for the confusion I'm really new to this. Thanks :)

That's correct, no new firmware at this time.  It's okay to make a new thread after you look around/search and don't see a topic being covered.  Welcome! (from a relative newbie myself!)

Will there be additional web serivces added (HULU, Netfilx, Etc), or even a stripped down browser like the one in the WII?

I hope it will soon be possible to use UI style of youtube with other medias (movies,...).

This way, WDTV Live will have coverflow style, XBMC like !

This is my biggest question right now as well.  I'd really like to get rid of the Roku box sitting next to my Live.
