looking very nice. scrolls smoothly too. nice work!

@lilibabe: if you have it ready we could write a script that pulls all text from the XML to create a list of used text. then people could translate that list and with that we could rewrite the XML files to make different translations. let me know if you would like some help on this.

Not yet ready, done at 15% ! But it's a good idea, when I finish, your help will be crucial to do that !!

I made good progress today (about 50% finished), but I encountered a problem while reading photos : the wdtv restarts...

I will try to find the solution and I will try to deliver a second video in a few days... Then i will put online a prerelease (not finished and not final version).

I first wanted to replace all the text that appear on the differents screens (in order to have the same font used everywhere), but finally i choose not to do it for 3 main reasons :

- non English users may be disappointed
- more work for me
- small fonts are not very clear on screen (I also think that those who have a CRT TV will not be happy with this mod)

Here is another preview for playback controls (used in photos/music/videos) :

Same thing for options menu during playback.

I'm not sure it will be retained in the final version, maybe simple pictograms...

@pupiponis : maybe for christmas  ;) Given the size of the items, it will require some very short names !

ok, I can help with those words, how many characters should have at most every word? to replace another with the same meaning, anyway thanks for considering, greetings!

I will list later, but as suggested above by redindian, maybe i could provide .psd files and redindian will make a script to replace files. But i think it will be hard for users because there's a lot of work !

Non-exhaustive list of words used :

- main menu : photos/music/settings/movies, labels for submenus (usb, all my movies/photos/music, av settings, audio settings, video settings, photo settings, system, update, by date, recent, by folder, playlist, now playing,...)
- while browsing : browse, search, settings
- playback controls : play, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, next, previous,...

In most cases your xml file is bad. An unclosed element, no wrapper or page, stuff like that. Happened to me a few times.

Are you now using an image for each word/text?

I checked the code (picture_run.xml) this morning, I did not detect anything abnormal... I will retry later !

Yes, one image for each word, at least for gfx in the main screen. For playback controls, there's a bg (alls the labels in grey color = not selected) and each control overlays this bg (transparent with color for the selected label).

play   pause   stop   fast forward rewind ...

You could just try to restore picture_run.xml (or other picture related xml files, depends when it reboots) with the originals (make backups!) and then see if the problem goes away.

Hi lilibabe, Do you have plans of putting "Now Playing" [Audio/Music Only] Screen saver for the minimalistic OSD mod.

No, sorry ! I can't do that !

In fact, except playing with text, gfx and a few other things, there's not much to do with xml files.

So, the only solution is to design an app.bin, that is no longer part of my skills !!

I revert back to "old" version of the xml file, but still have the same reboot problem !  >:(

After much hair pulled, I finally spotted the problem : the setting for the height of the progress bar was misinformed !  :o

Ouch! Good you found it.

(Off-topic: Did you ever try to put an animated image on a page? I've tried it but it kept rebooting on me.)
