I would like to know just like the title says what is the best conversion software and the best settings like for instance to show it on a 720 tv I use DVDfab and set it on avi divix setting it does pretty good but Id like to know if their is something better

Hi,

It depends on your quality wishes, features and size restrictions. If you want 1:1 quality, then mkv or ISO are best options. With Mkv you retain audio, subtitle and chapter options. You can use DivX also. There are different tools for such e.g. makemkv to create mkv file. For Divx there are also a lot of tools, and you can specify high data bit e.g. 2500 - 4000 to have higher quality, but then the file size will also be 3-4 GB.

Best conversion for what?  Bluray's, Home videos? DVDs? ts live tv shows???

There are lots of different techniques for different types of sources.
WDTV LIVE with current official FW > HDMI > DVDO > Sony CRT Projector 150" 16/9 screen.  Toslink audio to Yamaha DTS receiver. No Network set up yet.
