since the upgrade firmware i have the following problems (1) the movie i am trying to play takes ages to come on(2) when i turn the media player off using the eject the next time i switch it on it takes ages to scan and and most times i have to switch it off and the hard drive then it seems to work, very embarrasing when your trying to show it to friends i wish i hadn't downloaded the new firmware

Latest firmware came out yesterday (04/08.09)

Install it.  Fixes the load times.

its ok i found it silly me i looked on the western digital website as you would, they still have the 1.01.02 firmware on it thought it might save time rather than trawling thro pages and pages looking for it

ok i downloaded the latest firmware but i still have this problem, when i turn off the media player i have to turn off the hard drive as well if i dont the media player will not find the hardrive when i switch it on again ie the flashing light will not come on to say its scanning the hard drive. so i switch both of them off and then on again and it works.oh just to say the movie comes on straight away now so one thing cured with the firmware
