How to convert DVD's VIDEO_TS to ONE mkv on a Mac?

(1/2) > >>

Hi,

as I have learned by now, the WD TV won't play VOBs from a VIDEO_TS-Folder without issues.

So I tried makemkv on my Mac on that VIDEO_TS folder, but got several mkv-Files instead of one single.

How do I convert a DVD's VIDEO_TS folder to one single mkv-File on a Mac? Is there a simple solution to this problem?

Thanks a lot and best regards,
Matt.

Not sure about a MAC, but I just finished doing about a 100 DVD's I had ripped to TS-Video folders on a hard drive. It always made just one file. Key is that when it reads the IFO file, I chose the once that was the biggest. The other titles I unchecked. If after it checks the IFO file, you have 4 titles, it'll make 4 files. I just made sure I had the one that contained the movie. Doing multi discs and TV episodes is a whole different ball game.

matthiaslink77 - I use both MakeMKV and Handbrake to create MKV files from VideoTS files. Are you talking about TV Series discs? Both programs will always select the individual episodes. One way around this (if you really want one MKV file) is to use DVD2OneX to join all the episodes and create one VideoTS folder and then process that folder with either program. I have done this before and they work fine as one continuous movie.
Some TV discs also have as the first episode a combined VideoTS folder of all the episodes, and then different folders for each episode.
Hope this helps. :)
