Hello all,

I want share my last experience with ASUS WL 500 gP V2

This wireless router has also linux inside and very good community support
power consumtion is 2-3W dependent on network load peeks - 4W maximum (tested with my power-meter) 10-30Mbit LAN-WAN

WDTV has 6W
Asus 2-3 W
2.5 HDD 1-2W
its good solution for NAS and internet routing

for non technical users has Asus support mount and share USB HDD in original fw
for more experienced users is DD-WRT fw (VLAN support you can isolate WDTV from other network stations or isolate WIFI zone from your wired part and keep wifi users connected to internet

for linux users is OpenWRT fw families
I had DD-WRT with openSSH server I am lazy develop traffic monitoring which is in DD-WRT standard feature :p

Many users using WDLXTV fw and want have wireless access this is probably for many users way

how to have WDTV+NETWORK  attached Network HDD on ASUS  and accessible from PC  over WIFI/Wire

ASUS has NFS server also like ipkg package or native SAMBA support in DD-WRT
