Unable to load 1.03 firmware - never asked to load and no load icon - Please help!
Hello all I am new, just got this WD TV as a gift, got on here and found there is a newer version then the one I have (out of box version) and need some help installing it.

Here is my situation:
1. Formated 2G Kingston usb stick to [FAT32]
2. Downlaoded the latest firmware for my model from WD and added the WDTV.bin/VER to the ROOT
3. Turned on WDTV box > added stick > read stick > was never prompted to load firmware and there is no firmware icon in SETTINGS bar

Stuck, need some help please, thanks in advacne all!

hollo! who may add support dvd menu to 1.03.1 ? it wil be great for all users wdtv gen1.

Western Digital won't be doing it as they have ended any firmware updates for the original WDTV. They aren't even going to fix the MKV header compression issue. You might try asking in the Homebrew section to see if any of the independent developers are working on it.

plssss help.....i use a wdtv gen.1 and not reading the video format DTS, does anyone know why? generation in this model can be upgraded to a larger version, for example, 1.03.39 or 1.04? Thank you for your help

There is no video format DTS.
DTS is audio format,and is used in some video files in different conatiners.
You must first see what mediainfo say about this file you want to play.
Open a new thread and post that information about the file you want to play.
In all cases,DTS is not supported by WDTV ver 1 natively.
