If it doesn't work with "welcome_background_bg.jpg", try using a .png (welcome_background_bg.png) because simple and unadorned needs a .png file instead of a .jpg file.

But I don't know if it's ok with WDLXTV.

If it is the WDlxTV just put the image as Welcome_background_bg.jpg in the root and it will change.

Cheers.

love this OSD.

Could someone point me in the right direction to a quick walkthrough of how to get this working?

Im running WDLXTV 0.5.8.1, I managed to flash to this firmware and had no problems, but I love the look of this new OSD.

I have a WD Passports drive with 1 folders which is just my movies.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers.

Ricky

In my mod, it's a png, not a jpg, so not sure it will work... try both welcome_background_bg.jpg and welcome_background_bg.png

If you want to keep WDLXTV, you have to download the file named "lilibabe.osd.bin" (not wdtv.bin).

Put it on your usb stick (I don't know if it works with a big HDD) then power off/on your WDTV.

Do you need to keep it on your USB stick after you flash it?

Yes, I think so.

WDLXTV (lilibabe.osd.bin) : no permanent flash (usb stick need to be connected)
"normal" firmware (wdtv.bin) : permanent flash (usb stick can be removed)

Excepting the gfx part, there's no other changes made by my mod, so it's as stupid as the original fw !  ;D

But with my wdtv, when I press play button, it doesn't show the jpg but it plays the content of the folder.

I'm not sure but I think it's possible to have 2 partitions on your HDD : one for the apps and another one for your medias. Try to search this forum for the how-to.
