i connected wd hd tv to Receiver that supports DTS-HD and Dolby True-HD via HDMI. Files with DTS-HD play fine (One file actually kept freezing until i converted DTS-HD to DTS) but the file with Dolby True-Hd says unsupported.

No,

This has been discussed many times.

DTS-MA and TRUE-HD formats are not supported on the WDTV and they never will be.

They both require HDMI 1.3 hardware which the WDTV does not have.
WDTV LIVE with current official FW > HDMI > DVDO > Sony CRT Projector 150" 16/9 screen.  Toslink audio to Yamaha DTS receiver. No Network set up yet.

I don't understand, is it not supported because of the software or because of the hardware ?

DTSHD is supposed to be based on DTS, contrary to Dolby and Dolby true-hd. Shouldn't digital sound be coming out through the optical output to be decoded by a home cinema ? The only problem (for DTS-HD) should be with the home cinema, not with the WDTV.

I might be wrong, but I just don't understand.
