It would be great if you could add in a future firmware upgrade the ability to create playlists on the fly, i.e. having the ability to select which songs will play while browsing through the media library.

Indeed, everyone here knows I am for this. 

Based on the limited remote control, it would probably make making one a tedious effort though.
I would settle for an option to get the track order for CDs incorporated so that my Dark Side of the Moon CD doesn't start with Brain Damage.

I think that playlist creation is easy to provide. Not all remote control buttons are functional during file browsing so one could use e.g. the right arrow on the top side of the remote for adding the next song to the playlist. I think that it is not that hard to implement, if you also take into consideration that WDTV constructs it's own "playlist" during playback by arranging the songs in the hard disk alphabetically and playing them in that order. It is simply a matter of overriding this queue and inserting your own.
