Hi,
For high end audio listening via my wd live tv gen2 I want to buy a hdmi audio extractor to feed the digital audio signal to my Teac ud 501 Dac but really don't know which brand of Hdmi audio extractor to buy. i want to buy that from amazon can anyone help ??

By the way i am mentioning below a thread of Mr. stefil originally posted on September 11, 2013, 12:53:15 PM regarding this.

Hi,

I evaluate WDTV Live digital audio capabilities as UPNP renderer for high end audio listening.
Evaluation made with actual official firmware : 1.06.43_V

The conclusion is HDMI Pass Through settings via Audio/Video menu is a real pass through !!

Optical Output Format    HDMI Output Format    External DAC    Optical Output Format    HDMI Output Format
Source Format           (conf stereo)           (conf Stereo)           (conf stereo)           (conf Optical Pass Through)           (conf HDMI Pass Through)
16 bit / 44,1 kHz           16 bit / 44,1 kHz           16 bit / 44,1 kHz           KO           16 bit / 44,1 kHz           16 bit / 44,1 kHz
24 bit / 88,2 kHz           KO           KO           KO           KO           24 bit / 88,2 kHz
24 bit / 96 kHz           16 bit / 48 kHz           16 bit / 48 kHz           KO           16 bit / 48 kHz           24 bit / 96 kHz
24 bit / 176,4 kHz           NC           NC           KO           NC           KO
24 bit / 192 kHz           16 bit / 48 kHz           16 bit / 48 kHz           KO           16 bit / 48 kHz           24 bit / 192 kHz

I can deliver digital stream unaltered  from WDTV to my favorite DAC via an HDMI audio extractor (Coax/Cinch).
If your AV Receiver has a good DAC you get that all along HDMI.

WDTV Live used as Upnp renderer, all is controlled from my smartphone :D

Great machine
hoping that post will satisfy some of you.
