I got WDTV Media player Live .........

And i am having the weirdest problem ever ....

So i have it wired on cable that is 70ft ... suddenly it stopped working for no reason at all....

Now i get message .... cannot get IP address ..... limited or no connectivity ....

But the twist is ....

On the same cable ... my laptop works and has perfect internet connection...
And when i took the WDTV and connected it on short cable to router it works again .....

So what the hell..... is up ...

Did the signal power of WDTV got weaker or what  ???
(I tried different cable that is 60ft too same effect)

I am just out of ideas what should i do with this to fix it.

Shouldn't be a problem with strength, as RJ45 - Ethernet cable can be run up to about 330ft without having to boost it, furthest I have had a cable without any kind of signal boost, was @ 400ft maybe at that length you will strain the Ethernet card. But I had no problems.. Did you try to reset your WD TV box? A total reset..  :)

Is it connected with the same cable, (you switch from WDTV to your laptop?) Or do you use a Switch?

My does the same thing. Never got it to work on the wire. The same cable works fine with other devices.

Initial tries it go that thing to work with the wireless network, but it stopped working around the same time I tried to get the wire to work.
