My TV can only handle up to 1080i but my WD TV Live defaults to 1080p which will not appear on the TV screen. So I am not able to adjust other than by hooking it up to another TV with a 1080p capability. But after a few days, it will return to 1080p and I have to reconnect to another TV all over again. At first, I tried to connect the WD TV to a computer UPS so that power will be maintained at all times and it will not reset. But after a day or two, it did go back to 1080p.

If only I could adjust the video using the web-based interface, then the problem is solved.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Of course you can, it's in the HDMI options.

Can you explain further? I just got my gear this week.
Remember, when the WD TV defaults to 1080p, my screen is blank and I cannot see the menus to make adjustments. I have to connect it to another TV that can display 1080p, adjust it to 1080i, and reconnect to the original TV.

Setup > Audio/Video Output > Video Output > HDMI

and then rather than using AUTO set it to your preferred resolution.

Can I do this using the web interface on my computer? I don't see this option from there. I see this in the main menu from a real TV screen.  But my problem is when the box resets to 1080p, the TV screen goes blank and I cannot see this menu anymore. So I cannot do any adjustments, like to set the video back to 1080i. So again, I have to use another TV that can display 1080p and that's the only time I can make adjustment like the one you said.

AFAIK you can't do it over the web interface.

Yes, that's what I observed. They should make the web interface a full version of the setup page. I hope they do it on the next firmware update.
