I don't have any sync issues, I guess I'm lucky. I'm using the newest WDLXTV FW.
I thought I had sync issues but it turned out to be a slight delay from the stereo. :-[

No details on the next release, but i think it could be one of the last update as WD will certainly focus on other products...

thats not to say however, there wont be more releases from keen uses who develop their own firmware..

Nobody can develop their own firmware because the code has not been open sourced.

Normally I'd defend myself but I have to go deliver another load of chopped firewood to the home for crippled orphans.  I don't know what they'll do if they don't get enough to last through the winter, so I just keep chopping away even though I only have one lung and one kidney since I donated the other ones to a sick orphan last year.

Edit: My poor sick mother just called and the orphans are stuck on a bus in a blizzard on the old mountain pass.  I'd better get going.

I am in the usa, I have tried the new update and it did install. but the problem I am having is that I still have no chapters.  I am using a 2tb seagate hd and its plum full of movies.  these movies are riped from dvd shrink to ISO format.  I tried just leaving them in vob files but chapters still did not work.  I played the movies on my pc with VLC player and chapters worked fine.  Any ideas or cures for this chapter problem.  other wise everythings works great.

Take the time to change the format to something that the unit indicates it will support or do what I have done which is live with the VOBs and just watch the entire movie. At this point there is no real other option that I have found for this chapter thing or the FF or FR not working with VOBs.

We've put up new beta firmware: http://www.wdc.com/wdtvprerelease/

If you try it, I would appreciate reading your experiences. I am especially interested to see if there are any remaining MKV audio/video sync issues.

Resolved Issues:
* Resolved issue where UI Language displayed as OFF when English is selected.
* Resolved UI issue where "ContainsWWW" shows up in the search menu instead of "Contains".
* Resolved MKV audio/video sync issues.
* Resolved issue where songs were displayed in alphabetical order instead of track order in album view.

New features:
* Added video playlist support.
* Added support for unlocking locked WD external drives.
