Hello.. My message.txt is filling up with these messages:
Jun 16 06:53:54 WDTV-95166 user.notice root: Suppress "/tmp/media/usb/USB2/Apple Trailers" Jun 16 06:54:07 WDTV-95166 user.notice root: Suppress "/tmp/media/usb/USB2/Apple Trailers" Jun 16 06:54:13 WDTV-95166 user.notice root: Suppress "/tmp/media/usb/USB2/Apple Trailers" Jun 16 06:54:26 WDTV-95166 user.notice root: Suppress "/tmp/media/usb/USB2/Apple Trailers"
Any idea what maybe going on here?
Do you use LaurentG's OSD mod as well? Because he publishes a script that fixes some problems with mounting network shares on the WDLXTV, this messages come from this script. It removes a duplicate mount point from your device that probably would not be required. If it doesn't pose any problems simply ignore the messages, its not a process that takes much CPU power. ciao, elm

And my script and elm's script are fighting hard, elm's one creates the mount and mine destroys the mount As I explained, if my script is enough good, I think it should be included in next versions of the alternative firmwares. That would allow the add-ons to not take care about this "problem". Saying that, I know that my script may be optimised. I am doing, every 5 seconds, a "ls" at the root of each mount point to check if there is something inside. There might exist an efficient way to check that, no ?

Hi,
I have a slow connection internet and wonder if is there a way to increase the buffer size of trailer download or wait until it finish downloaded then start to view.
Can we like selected multiple of trailers and let WDTV to download and watch them at later time?
Thanks.

This feature is implemented but you'd need to modify the start script, if you have a basic Linux knowledge you can do this (please look for temp file mode in the discussion thread for appletrailerfs 0.3.0 beta). The download and cache modes will be reworked in the next beta release, then it will be easier to change and use them. Such a thing is not planned, would be tricky to make such a thing usable because I have no idea how this could look and behave in the OSD. If you have any suggestions just post them. ciao, elm

Not sure if this is technically possible, but maybe a 'keep downloading' settings, where it would keep on downloading when you go 'back' or 'stop'. And a 'keep caches' settings where caches are kept 'forever'.
So it checks if the file has been downloaded, if not it starts downloading till it has finished. Even if you exit video play mode. Then if you come back or play it again it plays the file off disk.

When we select certain trailer and come into preview mode. several files are listed for playing. And we have 2 ways to activate it, press "enter" or "play" buttons. My idea is when "enter" button is pressed, this file will be checked if it is already inside the created folder, if not then downloaded and save in the folder. If "Play" is pressed, just play the file as normal without download to folder. Thanks.

You should see a folder "Apple Trailers" when you navigate from the home screen to Video => Folders. If that is not the case it would be helpful if you can post the files appletrailerfs.log and appletrailerfs.boot.log from your USB stick (if they don't exists we well take it from there). ciao, elm

You should see a folder called Appletrailerfs from "folder" from "videos" Icon. copy all four files from zips to root of the USB flash.

Sorry everyone - I deleted the existing files and unzipped them again to the stick and now it is working. Trailers keep freezing on me - but that means I got to do some optimizing of my networking.
Thanks

unfortunately im having a issue ... in the past, i can play anything up to 720p ... 1080p turns into a slide show ... after the upgrade, even 720p movies are coming up as a slide show ... anyone else having this issue? i just upgraded to b-rad's new 5.5 hoping it will fix the issue ...

looks like 5.5 of brad's firmware did the trick ... 1080p is playable but still stutters every once in awhile ... is this to be expected? i have a 20mb download pipe so that shouldnt be a issue ...

Hi altern8,
the slow playback for 1080p and some 720p movies is a known issue with the way how the download is handled (for details search this thread and the one for the 0.3.0 release). A new caching mode will be in the next release (1-2 weeks) that should make them playable.
ciao, elm
