I have seen talk on the board about v2 & v3 WDTV Live.
I am about to purchase my first one here in the UK from http://www.ebuyer.com/289780-wd-tv-live-air-hd-media-streamer-wdbgxt0000nbk-uesn
Can anyone clarify if this is a v2 or v3?
How do you tell the difference?

If this all works out then I plan to buy two more.

Many thanks

You have the Streaming AKA Gen 3
There are 4 WDTV Live (from oldest to newest)
The live (Gen 1 Live rounded box and smaller remote)
Live Plus (same as above but with Netflix)
Live Hub (has a 1 TB HDD inside)
Live Streaming AKA Gen 3 (box more square and larger remote)

The first two (older ones) can use a custom firmware....the two newer ones (hub and streaming) can not.
Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1
WDTV Live
1.02.21 WDLXTV 0.5.1.4 (Beta)
Linksys - WUSB600N USB Adapter
DLink - Dir-655 Router
Atheros - AR8131 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
XBMC - The Future of Television
