Before I bought the WD TV Live, I rand XBMC on my laptop connected to my TV by an long, annoying, HDMI cable. I controlled XBMC with an Android app from my Galaxy Tab. I addition to playing video and audio files residing on my laptop, I could use any of the hundreds (1000s?) of addons and programs to access the unlimited video and audio content throughout the internet.

I bought the WD TV Live so I wouldn't have to use a cable. I still run XBMC on me laptop.

Then in the WD TV Live:

Seems to work, but I only get access to the local files on my laptop with no way of accessing the addons and programs. I get a screen that lists just two folders: Music Library and Video Library.

How can I get access to the Addons and Programs within XBMC with this setup?

If it is the Live or the Live plus....yes with custom firmware.  If it's the Live Hub of the Live Streaming, I doubt it.
