A few were asking about this.  These only work on .mp4 files FYI.

This may change with the next update.
WDTV LIVE with current official FW > HDMI > DVDO > Sony CRT Projector 150" 16/9 screen.  Toslink audio to Yamaha DTS receiver. No Network set up yet.

I hope it does get fixed in the next firmware update. It's the only thing that I don't like about the WDTV.

Yes, it would just be great if you could use the same name for cover art and your video file (e.g. mymovie.jpg - mymovie.avi). Without such an easy function the gallery mode is quite useless for me...
WDTV firmware 1.01.02, connected via HDMI (video) and Toslink (sound)

How do I add the video cover art on my mp4 files?  I'm on a mac.  Do I have to bring the files into iTunes and do it there?  I would prefer to add cover art in something other than iTunes.  I have tried to set a poster frame in Quicktime pro but it does not carry over to the WDTV.

As far as I know iTunes is your best bet.  You need to make sure the artwork is imbedded.

On the PC one can also use Windows Media Player.

On Windows XP/Vista, I use Tag&Rename to add cover art to my .mp4 files.

Hey....here is what you do.  Use Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/?article=download) to rip (I use the PS3 pre-set). Then I use Meta X (http://www.kerstetter.net/page53/page54/page54.html) to edit tag data, and add DVD cover art/thumbnail to the .mp4 file. Then go in to WDTV and the thumbs appear...waalaa. Meta X is also available for the PC (http://www.danhinsley.com/MetaX.htm)...
Sorry didn't have time to figure out adding of hyperlinks....
