WDTV General Discussion / Network Shares problem master browser
« Last post by Chappie19 on December 27, 2015, 08:57:32 AM »
I realise this has been asked a million times but i am no further forward. I have 2 of the latest WDTV boxes, bought in November 2015. The downstairs one is plugged in through LAN into the back of my bt hub 5. The one upstairs is plugged in to a tp-link powerline adapter. I added the network shares on both systems to find all the content on my WD Mycloud (plugged in through gig ethernet)  The WDTV upstairs manages to keep all the shared including all the relevent info for video files (posters, plot artwork etc) but the one downstairs always loses the same shares. I can go into the menu and the share will be missing from the manager section. I try not to use my pc because its old and crap but i did run a LAN scanner to determine the master browser and it said that the nas drive and the hub 5 were both master browsers. Im lost please help!!
WDTV Video / TS-Streaming to two TVs (with WDTV Live) parallel
« Last post by MiniMax on December 15, 2015, 12:41:06 AM »
Is it possible to stream a TV recording in TS format from a Windows PC or NAS first to one TV in living room 1 and then to continue after a break in living room 2 with the second TV?
Both receiving their HDMI signal from a WDTV box on an Ethernet network.
WDTV LIVE - General Discussion / Re: WDTV Live Stability
« Last post by leeperone on December 14, 2015, 07:51:29 AM »
know this is being discussed in a lot of places. I have an early 2009 imac using Plex with the latest release 9.12.19 and wd tv live also at current firmware levels. I will be playing a video attached wirelessly when it will freeze and than sometimes drop back to the video menu of plex. when i go to play again it gives me a  media server missing message. I go to the setup portion to reattach the server and the folder is empty of both Plex and another media server I use, Logitech media server. I retry and both are there. I attach to plex, sometimes I redo the network set up but the problem will return after playing for a while. I have been able to get through a video by closing plex and reopening on the imac but it eventually reoccurs. If I play the videos via my wd tv 's network share utility, where the wd goes out and finds the folders on my mac it too will drop to the media share menu and force me to re choose the media shares. I notice that when I re do the network connection which I guess gives me a new IP address that it will work at least through the movie i'm watching.
WDTV General Discussion / USB refresh
« Last post by gwilliams on December 07, 2015, 12:08:35 PM »
I've recently purchased the WD TV and am somewhat new to the device.

My device was scanned and everything seems to be working.  I started watching TV shows directly off my USB external hdd.  I did some switching around and ended up renaming some files in a directory.  When I plugged the USB back the names of the files remained unchanged.  I tried to refresh the folder but no change.  I plugged in the USB to my computer and tried to delete files the WD TV seems to have added, but that did not work either.

Any way to fix this?
WDTV LIVE - General Discussion / Cannot exploit full WD TV Live potentialities?
« Last post by Fukinagashi on December 02, 2015, 08:09:56 AM »
I do own a WD TV Live (bought at the end of 2013) and a Sony Bravia KDL-55W829B Full HD TV.
I've recently tried to change the resolution to 1080p.
As soon as I switch to 1080p the screen starts flickering (or no signal, i.e. black screeen).
It seems there's no way to exploit WD full potentialities!!!
The firmware should be latest release.
Any help?
WDTV Video / Re: MKV files freezing - Windows 10 Pro, version 1511, 10586?

i guess everyone with a WDTV has problems with MKV files freezing.  I've had sporadic problems in the past, but nothing like what I've experienced in the last week.  I tried to blame it on Windows 10 SP1, but that has nothing to do with it.  I even put the problematic file on a thumb drive and plugged into the WDTV, and had the same problem - same spot.  Sooooo, it's the WDTV.  It's a POS, just like everyone warns about.
Homebrew / Custom Firmware / Re: WDTVLIVE firmware on WDTVLIVE PLUS?
« Last post by Rev Drew on November 19, 2015, 03:34:26 AM »
When I was using these a lot, I was using WDlxTV firmware, I used the bootable Live fimware on a USB flash drive on my live plus, no issues, I just didn't have Netflix or any of the other plus things.
As for flashing WD firmware to it, no idea to be honest.
Bug Reports WDTV LIVE / Re: bug v2.02.32 after closing netflix wd hangs/freezes

I'm having the same exact issue.  Sometimes it will play for an hour, sometimes it will only play for five minutes then it totally freezes up and only pulling the plug works.  Such a pain!!
WDTV Video / MKV files freezing - Windows 10 Pro, version 1511, 10586?
« Last post by crazylizard on November 17, 2015, 05:37:07 PM »
Out of the blue, after using two WDTV players and Serviio for years,  along with Windows 7, 8, and now 10, I'm having problems with MKV files freezing.  I can't help but wonder if it's Windows 10 Pro, version 1511, 10586.  I've tried everything - I've rolled back firmware, reset the device, reset router, rebooted..... I don't know what else to try.  I also have Plex server running, and I've tried using Windows Home Network to share the files.
Hey folks I am new to this forum, found it trying to recover my boyfriends WDTV Live.

So I attempted a firmware update, alll was well except he got impatient and unplugged the device before it was done. What I am getting now is an error screen that tells me to plug in the usb with firmware. Which I have done but nothing happens. I have reset, hard re boot pretty much everything I can think of...... Any suggestions? I am really stuck here
