a couple of things rolling through my head about this ...
1st, if I am using windows to access the drives on wdtvlive, I've got the similar but different problems, and I'm running an unreleased svn version 2nd, svn version does have some network changes which may resolve some problems, 3rd, under 4.2.2 (possibly unrelated) particularly network shares are mounted as read only, this resolved some issues, but also created some, this may be effecting drives connected to wdtvlive directly, haven't had a chance to look into it 4th, has anybody tried ftp, ssh, etc - all work under my setup, it's only windows that is unable to access/write to the drives, if other protols are working it would confirm that it's a samba issue - which is where I'm at currently on this KAD KAD |

i tried that but no success
, i thought because im using your osd with the custom firmware that maybe your background is hard coded in your osd.bin ?"well if you use a theme it’ll mess up supplying a custom background on a boot device, as themes will overwrite it. I’ve just tested out placing a custom welcome_background_bg.jpg on a boot device for boot-time replacement and it still works as it should. –b-rad >>>" i read that on official site! |

any body look here
http://wdtvforum.com/main/index.php?topic=2356.0 or on wdc for that mater, there's a list of supported adaptors, but the real key is that, only 3 chipsets are supported, in most cases if the adaptor uses 1 of those select chipsets it will work so I read above link and many others before deciding on the WUSB600N v2 , but of coarse to no avail, careful, linksys has a newer model with a slightly different name, looks exactly the same, uses an unsupported chipset, I had to return it and then found a v2 at newegg for $25 works great KAD |

just about 1 week ago b-rad released the first custom fw for live plus, at this point only donators have access to it, but I'm sure a public release is on the way soon

on the homebrew forum you might check out the ext plugins section, there's some rough code that puts the album are in the now playing section for video, probably would work with music as well

yeah, only file size limit is what system format you use for HDD, or if you're over a network, it's a bit rate issue, which NFS easily solves

IMHO wdtvlive does not support a direct bluray rip, It does recognize file structure, so you have several options, covert to mkv, m2ts, etc or create BD ISO from your rip, some may argue the bluray rips contain m2ts that is supported, but often to get a whole movie there are multiple m2ts files that you must merge, or movie will stop until you select the next file, oh and they're usually not in order by default but as for a low cost media player, this is your best option, for $100 USD this player competes with units costing $300 KAD |
