Title: Updated to New B-rad Firmware, But the WDTV v2 won't Boot
Post by: dmyles on November 09, 2011, 02:56:02 PM
I did the upgrade to the newest B-rad and the process went fine. the screen advised it was going to reboot but the only thing that happened was the WD screen then black the box power light stays on then the screen goes to no signal. The remote does not work. The box will only down off when unplugged. I tried the reset for 10 seconds no change. Left it unplugged for 10 minutes no change.

I get the same thing each time its replugged in the WD screen with the power light on then nothing.

Is this the end for this box , do I now have an expensive door stop ???

please give model numbers for your devices and EXACT firmware name / number you tried to install, also tell us the firmware already on your device as read onscreen in the about section.
'newest' or 'latest' is an arbitrary statement that means nothing to anybody, it is numbered and named the way it is for a reason.
without the proper info, nobody can do much to help you.

Model: WDBABF0000NBK-01
Problem has started after installing 1.01.77_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_G2-0.4.7.3 (before I was using Padavan firmware 2.0.0)

So what is happening, when I plug power, device is booting, WD screen is displayed for few sec.
After that like Dmyles said, screen goes to no signal (checked hdmi and s-video). Remote is not working - cannot turn off device.
I have tried to use reset button, but it doesn't help.

Is there any way to turn WD TV in some kind of service mode to clear flash and re-install firmware?

Does Padavans firmware support movie sheets?

This firmware is newer than the 1.01.77_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_G2-0.4.5.3 ( the 1.01.77_WDLXTV.COM_WDLXTV_G2-0.4.7.3 has problems and was removed), but I cannot find how to use movie sheets. For the problem try to boot with an older version
